Dale Skeen co-founded Vitria with JoMei Chang and is responsible
for the company's technology direction. He has over 15 years experience
in designing and implementing large-scale computing systems and is
well known for his technical contributions in the areas of distributed
computing and database systems. Prior to Vitria, Skeen co-founded
Teknekron Software Systems, now TIBCO, where he served as Chief
Scientist. Skeen has held faculty positions at the University of
California, Berkeley, and Cornell University. He is the inventor of
distributed publish-subscribe communication and holds several patents
in this and related technologies.
Skeen is a prolific published author, having contributed to ten books and
written numerous technical articles. He is also a contributor to
the CORBA distributed open architecture. Skeen received his
Ph.D. from University of California, Berkeley, in distributed database systems.
